BYOD

What is BYOD?

"Bring you own device" (BYOD) refers to students bringing their personal device to school for school work.

Evidence suggests that the benefits of integrating personal devices into learning include:

  • increased student collaboration
  • increased digital literacy
  • increased comprehension of technologies
  • building digital citizenship skills
  • independent learning
  • student driven learning
  • greater critical thinking skills
  • improved student engagement

BYOD School Policy and Student Agreement

This document must be completed and returned to school before students start bringing their own device.

Which devices are suitable?

A laptop with an 11-13 inch screen, keyboard and wireless connectivity is the preferred option.  See the list of  'Hardware Checklist' for more specific detail.

Our Hardware Checklist has been compiled to assist with the selection of a device.

JB Solutions for Education offers an online portal for schools to assist parents/carers in making an informed decision regarding the purchase of a new device.
